Temptations, Identity, and Homosexuality


I haven’t written in this blog for like two years, but I want to write in it more. And I mean actually write, because I mostly shared funny pictures, which I might continue, I am not sure yet.

I want to write about something that was discussed in my institute class last night. We watched a Q & A with Elder David A. Bednar, which I think is appropriate to talk about today since it is his birthday. In the video he talks about how there are no homosexuals in the Church. He is not saying that there is no same-sex attraction in the Church, but that we are all children of God, and not defined by our sexuality. Continue reading

“It becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor”

Last week, I was on Facebook, and one of the pages I have liked was talking about New Mexico being the seventeenth state to legalize gay marriage. One person commented and said that Jesus said that the person without sin should cast the first stone, and that if their gay brother got married, they would support him, because that was how God made him. I didn’t like that they said that God was the one who made him gay, because I know for a fact that he didn’t. So, I commented that God didn’t make him that way. Other people responded criticizing me, and saying, “how can you sleep at night?” I can sleep because I know that there is a God and that he loves me and everyone else on the planet. Continue reading
