At my service mission I have started a new project. After obituaries have been indexed, then reviewed by arbitrators, they now go through a process called truth set. I now get to compare the results from the different indexers and arbitrators, and decide if they are correct. I get to learn more about the people in the obituaries. Most of them are people who died of old age, but I had come across a young girl in a triple homicide, which was interesting (and sad). I can feel the Spirit of Elijah as I do these and actually pay attention to who they are about. I know this is the Lord’s work, and that I am helping bring souls unto Him.
On Saturday, I was able to baptize my brother for the dead in the temple. It was my first time baptizing. I was also able to confirm him for the dead, along with other kids that were there. As I was doing this I could feel the Spirit really strongly. I knew that the spirits of those who my brother was being baptized and ordained for (they were family names) were with there watching. This is very special and important, for now they have an opportunity to join the Church, an opportunity they did not have when they were alive. Continue reading

I hope that everyone is having a good Easter. I would like to write about what Easter means to me. Easter to me is a time where I ponder what the Lord has done for me, though His atonement (I should be thinking about it everyday). I know that He lives. I know that He suffered for our sins, died for us, and was risen the third day. I know that because, part of me was there when Jesus accepted His call, and that the Spirit of God testifies that it is true. He did lay down His life for us, but then He took it back. He did suffer all the pains of the world, so that if we repent, we can return to Him and our Father in Heaven.
In this post I have included photos and videos put together by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Continue reading
Yesterday, I got the opportunity to sing in General Conference. I felt the Spirit so strongly while I sang. I am glad I was able to share my testimony of the Gospel through song. It was an experience I wouldn’t trade for the world. I made some new friends, and was able to share the Spirit to the whole world. Click here to see the videos. I am a Sunday School teacher for my Ward (name for a Mormon congregation). Today a gave a lesson on the doctrine of Christ. I basically had the class teach me and my co-teacher as if we were not members of the Church. One thing we discussed is why are we here? Why would God send us to a place where we can get hurt? Why does He give us rules and punishments? The answer is that we were sent here to learn. If we don’t learn we can’t progress. Like parents on earth (God is our literal spiritual Father), He has rules to keep us safe. He wants us to learn, so He gives us a choice to follow those rules or not. All our choices have consequences. Whether it be punishment or reward. Continue reading
